Thanks to donations from individuals and local businesses and from the proceeds of our annual English Western Horse Show, California State Horsemen’s Association, Region VI is able to offer one or more scholarships to deserving graduating high school senior(s) who are active members of the region. The amount of the scholarship is determined each year by the region’s general membership and must be used in the pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate course of study at an accredited college or university.
Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis that is based on a combination of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, CSHA involvement and an interview.
You may download the application here or by request from Elaine Spotswood. Associated materials and the accompanying essay, must be received by the Scholarship Chairperson by (date forthcoming) and become the property of Region 6’s Scholarship Committee. These items will not be returned to the applicant. All information received by the committee members will be held in strictest confidence. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the committee members and their decisions are final. The winner(s) will be announced at the May general membership meeting.
Upon request, scholarship monies are sent directly to the student’s account at their chosen college or university and can be used to pay for tuition, room and board, and/or textbooks. All monies must be requested and dispersed prior to the winner’s 24th birthday. All unclaimed monies revert to the Region VI scholarship fund.
